Future Leaders & Young Entrepreneurs was Founded in 2013 by Cortni Grange and Sam Sesay (emeritus), two former student athletes. Sam and Cortni ran into each other at a gym more than a decade after the two graduated from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, MD. One conversation during that workout led them to form an organization that actively creates new realities for young people involved in athletics. FLYE’s first 3 years of programming was conducted at Sam and Cortni’s alma mater, Eleanor Roosevelt High School (ERHS). In that time, FLYE worked directly with over 90 student athletes educating and empowering around such topics as: entrepreneurship, leadership, gentlemanly behavior/etiquette, financial literacy, college preparation and health and wellness.
To intentionally expose youth to diverse avenues of success and assist young people involved in athletics in continued development of their most transitional soft skills.
We are committed to creating transformative educational environments where young people are prepared for life, work and citizenship. We will achieve this vision through providing every young person we come in contact with experiences and learnings that are transferable to all aspects of life and by edifying young people with the skills needed to achieve in the 21st Century.
